Most of us do practice Past questions while preparing for exam, but few would know there is such thing as the right way to practice Past questions and that is exactly what am about to share with you today.
If you are reading this, I assume you know the importance of past questions in preparing for exams, and hence the need to do it right.

Without further ado anyway, below are the five proven ways to treat
practice Past questions.
1. PRACTICE AGAINST TIME:
Before treating those past questions, first determine the exam duration and number of questions to be answered, then divide the exam duration(in mins) by the number of questions.
This would let you determine the number of minutes that should go solving a question on average.
The benefit of this practice is that, it would help you to make judicious use of your time, and obviously as you practice against time, your speed would increase.
But note that the goal is not just for you to be fast, but equally steady and complete your questions within the given time frame.

2. DON’T BE QUICK TO LOOK UP ANSWERS:
Most Past questions usually comes with answers with them, usually at the back or somewhere.
As you practice past questions, don’t be quick to look up answers, at Least not after many honest attempt.
While practicing past questions, do resist the urge to check the answers and try some more till you left with no option than to check.
Also ensure to not practice past questions like some people do, they first check the answers and then solve to check it
That is quite a bad way to practice Past questions. Only check answers when you’ve tried all you can to get it but can’t.
3. CONDUCT MOCK EXAMS USING PAST QUESTIONS:
mock exams for yourself is another good use of past questions.
Pick a years question and solve it like you are writing an actual exam, using the exams known duration.
Mark it and use the result to access yourself.
Will the score you got be considered a success if that were to be the actual exam?
How many questions did you get wrong and from what questions were they?
The answers you give these questions would can then determine the turn your preparation would take.
4. ENDEAVOR TO FIND SOLUTION TO QUESTIONS YOU GET WRONG:
It’s not strange when, while practicing past questions you get some wrong.
What would be strange anyway is overlooking it and not finding answers/solution to them
This might be by looking up the answers somewhere or giving it to someone who can solve and explain them to you.
Do endeavor to understand the solution, so that when you see such like questions answering them wouldn’t pose much difficulty.
5. KEEP PRACTICING:
Practice hard and keep at it.
Solve many questions as possible, this would get you fully prepared for the exam you are about to write.
